Laura E. Longobardi has a multi-discipline background in complex commercial litigation, with concentrations in employment litigation and real estate litigation.
Laura advises clients on pre-litigation matters; develops case strategies; prepares clients and other witnesses for depositions and trial; supervises the discovery process; argues motions and appeals; attends court conferences and negotiates settlement agreements. She also counsels clients in connection with employment contracts, severance agreements and other matters concerning their employment relationships.
Throughout her legal career, Laura has coordinated case strategies in matters involving co-counsel and/or local counsel. She has handled complex multi-party cases, including collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Laura also has experience in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) proceedings, including mediations.
Early in her career, Laura served as a judicial law clerk to Judge Reena Raggi in the Eastern District of New York, and later practiced with the firms of Windels Marx Davies & Ives and Thelen Reid & Priest.
Laura also has worked in the not-for profit sector, first with the Trinity Foundation, which operates the Marianapolis Preparatory School in Thompson, Connecticut, and later with Boys’ Towns of Italy, Inc., now known as A Chance in Life, which supports war refugee, migrant and at-risk youth living around the world through innovative self-government programs.
